Under the bright glow of a halogen lamp, Jacob was hunched over his work-desk soldering some wires to a silicon board. To his left was a glass sphere the size of a basketball, glowing neon blue.

He sat back, and let out a sigh of what appeared to be relief. “That will fix it, surely this time,” he spoke softly with conviction as he stood up and stretched out his arms. He reached over to the object he was soldering wires to and plugged the USB device into the nearby computer. With a few key-strokes, a second black window on the screen began to display a matrix of green characters cascading rapidly down, filling and then spilling over to an endless page. He then selected another window and selected “Save As” and chose the “Wire-Serve” directory to save the file name, “zillionair.odt”. The first window showed even more rapid activity of cascading characters. “Now for the moment we have been waiting for..” he murmured to himself as he reached over to the second computer and selected “Open” and chose the “Wire-Serve” directory and found the filename displayed in the selection window. “There you are my little one, now be nice and open for me..” he whispered, releasing the mouse key on “Open”. After an instant with more activity on the first computer screen, the file “zillionair.odt” opened on the second computer. “ You beauty! Yeah!” he exclaimed as he pumped the air with his fist....

After a few swift “alt-tabs” and a click he had pounced upon the email window and was typing feverishly upon the keyboard, “Jacqueline, can we meet tomorrow – it is urgent about my new technology patent..”
