Nearly all new devices being developed and sold at the time of writing this article will have WIFI. All smart phones from iPhone to Android-based phones will all have it.

Every mobile phone (even without WIFI) is designed to transmit and receive.

Technically, they are able to transmit and receive not only from a carrier's tower but also from each other.

All of the dark forces are beginning to circle their prey.

At first, Android was simply Google's bold answer to the arrogant, visionless mobile telephone companies' closed approach to trying to control their prized markets - and of course to iPhone's fantastic blockbuster releases.

First, forget iPhone.

It is a nice device and Apple did very well with it - but as with all proprietory, closed technology - it will be pushed aside by the community.

Having worked with a number of global entities over the last 10+ years, we have been watching how they interact, how they may try to interact, the results of their approaches, the effects of their effective and ineffective landing and the on-going life-cycle of the various related parties for those that do get through stage one.

Particularly in relation to Japan entry, particularly in IT, some companies have been clear winners - and some have struggled.
